"For the past month or two, I've been going to New Soon Soon Lai Restaurant with my parents almost every week. Popular stalls like Seremban Rahang Fish Ball Noodle and Uncle Soon Fried Rice are always crowded. However, it’s the hidden gems below that truly won me over. (1) Fish Fillet Noodles (鱼片米) from Yummy Fish Head Noodles stall. My all-time favourite. The broth is light yet comforting, with a fragrant hint of Shaoxing wine. The deep-fried tilapia fillet is always fresh and crispy. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. It tastes great every single time. Also, the friendly uncle and aunty running the stall make it even more special. (2) Fried Lo Shu Fun (炒老鼠粉) from Fried Kway Teow stall. This dish has wok hei, and full of flavour without being too oily or dry. It’s one of those deceptively simple plates that hit all the right notes. Once again, it’s prepared by a efficient couple who serve with genuine care. (3) Dry Pork Noodles (干捞猪肉粉) from Penang Pork Noodle stall. A dark soy-coated noodle base of your choice, served with a side of rich and porky broth. The soup is packed with minced pork, meat slices, bouncy pork balls, and clean, tender intestines. Each element is fresh and prepared with care. It’s a proper bowl of comfort and umami. The choice here is vast: popiah, nasi lemak, chicken rice, Western cuisine, Japanese cuisine, curry noodles. Most dishes sit comfortably around the RM10 mark, making this a budget-friendly spot for daily dining. My drink of choice is always the three-layer milk tea."

"Variety choices of food stall, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Overrated Char Siew, the Siew Yoke is much more better than Char Siew. Fish ball noodle waiting time quite long as it’s the busiest stall in the kopitiam. Kaya butter croissant quite crispy and tasty."

"Not sure about other food as I always come here for the shredded chicken hor fun. The broth was so good and the noodles are silky smooth. Five stars is for the Kai Si Hor Fun stall Five stars for the Hainanese Chicken Chop from my recent visit."

"Tried the nasi lemak and it was surprisingly good and the friendly lady owner said she was from melaka and the cookings were nyonya type and the sambal tasted very good and also the side dish wild boar sambal was perfectly done too . 7/10"

"it’s become one of my favourite kopitiam spots! From the moment I stepped in, the lively hustle of so many hawker stalls made it feel vibrant and welcoming. There are over 15-20 food stalls, serving a wide variety of local favourites: sand ginger chicken rice, char kway teow, fish ball noodles (soup and dry), curry mee, rojak, chicken chop rice, and many more. I tried the Fried Rice with Char Siew, and it was fragrant, well-seasoned, and just satisfying. The fish balls were nice and chewy, clearly not the overly bouncy factory-made kind, which was a pleasant surprise. Prices are very reasonable — many dishes cost between RM 8-RM 12 depending on what you choose. It’s good value considering the quality and selection. The staff are friendly, and even though it gets busy during peak hours (especially mornings and lunch), the food doesn’t take too long. One thing to note: some soup bases are lighter in flavor than I expected, and a few stalls close or run out towards closing time, so earlier in the evening or morning might be better. But overall, the atmosphere, the variety, and the food quality more than make up for it. If you’re around Shamelin and want a casual, satisfying, local food crawl, this place is well worth a visit. Highly recommended!"
